Angel Tyree is a writer, producer, director, and creative consultant with a unique perspective on the publishing and entertainment space with an emphasis on the intersection of early education and children’s programming. She’s a big vision creative strategist with a strong background in marketing, who works to develop existing literary and toy IP into multimedia projects for kids of all ages. She is currently serving as a Co-Creator on Afro Unicorn in the Land of Kindness (Pure Imagination Studios) based on the outrageously successful brand, Afro Unicorn by April Showers, and Executive Producer on Acoustic Rooster (currently in development at GBH/PBS) based on the book Acoustic Rooster and his Barnyard Band by Newbery Award Winning author, Kwame Alexander. Tyree served as writer,co-director, and scriptwriter for WordPlay w/Kwame Alexander, and directs digital content for Age of Learning’s educational apps,  ABC Mouse and Adventure Academy. She produced and hosted the podcast Bounce Back to Your Brilliance (2012-1015), and recently directed and produced the Facebook Watch show, Bookish w/Kwame Alexander, with season one having over 1.2M views. In 2022, she joined East West Literary Agent as a niche agent representing historically marginalized and underrepresented authors to bring stories of hope, joy, resilience, and inclusiveness to children around the world. Angel Tyree Johnson earned her B.F.A. in Theater Arts from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA.
